Dragon Ball is the inaugural theme park to be constructed in Saudi Arabia

The announcement by Saudi Arabia regarding the construction of a theme park inspired by the iconic Japanese animated series Dragon Ball has elicited a diverse array of feelings among its fan base.

The business responsible for the plan states that it will feature a minimum of thirty rides and a central dragon measuring 70 meters (229.6 feet) in height.

This park would be the inaugural global attraction of its sort, and it would be founded upon a prominent media brand.

A portion of the fans expressed their unhappiness of the decision, referencing Saudi Arabia's history of human rights legislation.

The park is projected to encompass an area over 500,000 square meters, as stated by the Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), which is wholly controlled by the investment fund of the Saudi Arabian government.

These ideas have been created as part of a long-term strategic cooperation between the QIC and Toei Animation, the Japanese firm responsible for producing Dragon Ball.

The official website of the Dragon Ball franchise states that there will be a roller coaster located within the dragon, which is designed to resemble Shenron, a dragon known for granting wishes in the franchise.

The building of Qiddiya, a notable entertainment and tourism project, is currently underway in close proximity to Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia.

The nation, which possesses abundant energy resources, is undertaking this action in order to achieve economic diversification and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels.

On social media, several Dragon Ball enthusiasts have voiced their endorsement of the theme park's intentions, while others have stated their dissent with the decision to locate the attraction in Saudi Arabia.

The nation has faced criticism due to its documented instances of human rights violations and its perceived lack of acknowledgment towards the rights of LGBTQ+ citizens.

The announcement is being made shortly after the demise of Akira Toriyama, the renowned creator of Dragon Ball.

Toriyama died in March at the age of 68. As to a statement disseminated on the official Dragon Ball website, the funeral proceedings were attended exclusively by the deceased individual's immediate family members and a limited number of acquaintances.

Toriyama's development of characters that have become integral to their lives has garnered admiration from fans worldwide.

The Dragon Ball comic series made its debut in the year 1984. The narrative centers around a juvenile protagonist named Son Goku, who undertakes a quest to get enchanted dragon balls possessing the capacity to grant him extraordinary abilities.

Japanese comic books are usually regarded as one of the most influential and highly successful literary works in history.
