Carlos Sainz emerges victorious in the Australian Grand Prix subsequent to the retirement of Max Verstappen

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc secured the top and second positions for Ferrari in the Australian Grand Prix, but Max Verstappen's supremacy in Formula One came to an end.

During the second lap, Sainz surpassed the Red Bull of the world champion in order to assume the leading position. Nevertheless, the Dutchman was compelled to quit as a result of a brake malfunction mere four laps later.

Following the initial pit stop period, Leclerc surpassed Lando Norris of McLaren, so assuming command of the race and subsequently maintaining his dominance.

Following George Russell's involvement in an accident, the race was halted with the use of a virtual safety car.

During the penultimate lap of the race, the Mercedes driver made an effort to narrow the gap with Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin, aiming to secure the sixth position. Nevertheless, he relinquished command of the vehicle in Turn Six, leading to an accident. The vehicle decelerated laterally, and it was suspended in mid-air by making contact with its left front wheel. Russell did not experience any physical harm.

After the race concluded, Alonso and Russell were called upon by the stewards to address accusations that the Spaniard had applied the brakes twice prior to the corner, and subsequently re-engaged the throttle during the midpoint of the two stops.

The conclusion of a day that was disheartening for Mercedes was a difficult one, as it seemed to confirm their status as also-rans. After completing 16 laps, Lewis Hamilton withdrew from the race as a result of an engine malfunction.

Norris facilitated Oscar Piastri's acquisition of a McLaren three-four ahead of Sergio Perez from Red Bull, who chose to remain unidentified on a day when he was unable to take advantage of Verstappen's departure.

Sainz possesses full authority.

Sainz displayed his dominant performance in front of an unprecedented crowd of 132,106 individuals in Melbourne, reaching a peak of 452,055 people over the weekend. This occurred a mere 16 days subsequent to his surgical intervention aimed at excising his appendix, resulting in his inability to participate in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The driver, aged 29, who has been recounting the peculiar sensation of "excessive internal movement" subsequent to his surgical procedure, pursued Verstappen during the initial lap of the race. Following Verstappen's error at Turn Three on the second lap, Sainz successfully overtook the Red Bull vehicle along the winding, specifically at Turns Nine and 10. As a result, Sainz emerged victorious in the race.

Shortly thereafter, Verstappen promptly resorted to radio broadcasting to declare that he had "lost the rear - peculiar," and it soon became evident why he had done so.

Upon finishing a single lap, he vocalized the subsequent statement via radio: "The vehicle is in a state of dislodgement." Furthermore, shortly thereafter, smoke started to leak from the right rear wheel of his vehicle.

As Verstappen decelerated, a mass of substance descended from his wheel and landed on the grass upon entering the pit lane. He had ignited his brakes and was now entering the pit lane.

The retirement of the individual in question serves as a testament to the notable achievements of Red Bull throughout the preceding two-year period, specifically in relation to the aforementioned race that transpired two years ago.

Sainz successfully retained his dominance of the race, displaying a steadfast refusal to relinquish it.

In the previous year, Sainz was the sole driver who did not participate in a race for Red Bull and emerged as the winner. He achieved this feat in Singapore, when he emerged victorious in a race that culminated with his successfully restraining a group of vehicles comprising Norris, Lewis Hamilton, and Russell.

Presently, he has assumed the role of the individual who would impede Verstappen's ability to achieve a comparable feat of securing victory in ten consecutive races. Notwithstanding his first awareness at the onset of the third race that he would forfeit his position at Ferrari before the end of the season, he proceeded to commence the season.

From the outset of the qualifying session, Sainz effectively managed Leclerc's race, ensuring that he never faced the risk of losing the race.

By capitalizing on Leclerc's inability to close the gap with Norris throughout the initial period, he managed to secure a competitive edge.

During the ninth lap, Ferrari deliberately halted Leclerc for an early stop with the intention of overtaking him and passing Norris. The idea was successful as the McLaren came to a halt after five laps and positioned itself behind the Ferrari.

Sainz made his initial stop on the sixteenth lap and departed barely one second ahead of his teammate. Over time, he progressively accumulated a lead that ultimately surpassed nine seconds prior to Leclerc's subsequent intervention in the race.

McLaren have a positive day, whilst Perez did not.

Despite Norris' inability to impede the Ferraris from reaching the finish line, McLaren achieved a successful weekend.

However, Perez expressed his dissatisfaction with Red Bull's decision to grant him an extended duration of time during his initial tenure.

Despite successfully surpassing Russell and Alonso, Perez encountered significant challenges in advancing against the McLarens, who were positioned ahead of him on a day that is unlikely to significantly enhance his prospects of retaining his employment at Red Bull for the year 2025.

Due to Russell's crash, Mercedes was compelled to withdraw from their race in Australia, while Lance Stroll of Aston Martin ascended to seventh place, surpassing Yuki Tsunoda of Red Bull Racing and Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen of Haas.

Following a significant collision on Friday, Alex Albon was assigned the Williams jersey for the upcoming weekend, alongside his teammate Logan Sargent. However, he ultimately ended tenth due to the overwhelming strength of the Haas drivers, which prevented him from passing in his quest for a single point.
