Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have parted ways with their manager, Scooter Braun, it was announced

According to reports, two of Scooter Braun's most important customers have abandoned him in the wake of a protracted legal battle around Taylor Swift's master recordings, which made Scooter Braun famous in the music industry.

Both Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have reportedly severed their ties with their respective managers, as reported by Billboard.

J Balvin, a major artist from Colombia who had inked a management deal with Braun in 2019, quit in May and is now represented by Roc Nation.

However, allegations that Justin Bieber has also severed his relationship with Braun have been refuted.

According to his website, Braun is one of the most successful music managers in the world, and some of his clients include David Guetta, the Black Eyed Peas, Ava Max, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Quavo. Other artists that Braun manages include Ava Max, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Quavo.

When he was a youngster, he began his career by promoting parties and events in the Atlanta area. Before he was signed to Def Jam Records, he did this work.

But his big break came in 2008, when he heard Justin Bieber, then 12 years old, singing on YouTube and saw that he had the makings of a celebrity.

He found the youngster through the board members at his school and asked them to put him in touch with Bieber's mother. He then signed the young man to a record label that he had created with R&B superstar Usher.

Bieber rose to prominence in the world of pop music very quickly, and Braun has been instrumental in steering his career through a number of highs and lows, including a period in 2013 and 2014 during which the singer was arrested multiple times for vandalism, dangerous driving, and assault.

"I was not going to give up on him, and I was not going to let him die," Braun said to the Guardian in 2016. "I was not going to let him live."

He finally assisted the singer in rehabilitating his image by orchestrating a "roast" on Comedy Central that highlighted his humility. This was followed by a string of singles, such as Sorry and Love Yourself, that signaled his transition from teen idol to adult star.

Since Ariana Grande signed a recording contract with Braun in 2013, she has come out with six albums, five of which debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.

Following the Manchester bombing, at which 22 of her fans were killed, Braun organized the One Love benefit concert, which contributed to the raising of millions of pounds for the victims' families.

Since the release of Positions in 2020, Ariana Grande has not issued a new studio album. Instead, she is now working on the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked.

It is not known whether she will cut all of her ties with Braun, including those related to management.

In 2019, Demi Lovato began working with Braun, and she remarked at the time that her "dreams came true for me. I am pleased to announce that I have a NEW MANAGER. And not just any manager, but Scooter Braun, the one and only."

According to a source who did not wish to be identified by name, their divorce was amicable. In point of fact, Braun wished Lovato a happy birthday on Sunday by posting a message to his Instagram account. In the post, he referred to Lovato as "one of the kindest souls out there."

The manager is arguably most known for his battle with Taylor Swift, which started in 2019 when he bought her former record company Big Machine for $300 million (£227 million) through his investment group Ithaca Holdings. The feud gained widespread attention after the manager purchased Big Machine.

This meant that he was able to take possession of the master recordings of Swift's first six albums, which she viewed as an act of aggression that "stripped me of the work I had put in over the course of my entire life."

Her hostility seems to have been fueled in part by Braun's association with Kanye West, whom he managed for two and a half years beginning in 2015.

The rapper had made it a habit of trying to bring Taylor Swift down, first by interfering with her acceptance speech when she won an award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, then by producing a song in which he claimed credit for her stardom, and finally by including a waxwork sculpture of her naked body in one of his music videos.

Swift believed that Braun had encouraged and approved this behavior, and the situation was made worse when Braun posed for a photograph with Kanye West and Justin Bieber on Instagram with the comment "What up, Taylor?"

As a form of retaliation, she refused permission for the use of her music in films and television programs, effectively cutting off a significant source of revenue for Braun's investment group. After that, she started recording all of her old material again, regaining ownership of the albums in the process while further diminishing the value of the first recordings.

In later years, Braun parted ways with the star's catalogue and sold it to another investing company called Shamrock Holdings. After a year, he parted ways with Ithaca Holdings and sold the company to the South Korean entertainment behemoth HYBE. HYBE is an agency that represents artists such as BTS and NewJeans.

In his current role as CEO of HYBE America, Braun was instrumental in the earlier this year acquisition of US hip-hop label Quality Control, whose roster includes artists such as Quavo, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and City Girls.
